Waal en Burg

On the north-eastern part of the Waal en Burg area you will find the farmhouse Plassendaal and the pool of the Westerkolk. During the Wadden Islands Bird Festival, you’ll be able to visit the hide of Natuurmonumenten. Here, species such as Spoonbill, Ruff, Green Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, Little Ringed Plover and Avocet can be seen, and meadow birds such as Black-tailed Godwit, Lapwing and Skylark breed nearby.
